Sharing with Family

BillManager allows you to share Bill Groups with family members or collaborators.

How Sharing Works

When you share a Bill Group:

  • Invited users can access the same bills
  • All users see real-time updates
  • Payment history is shared
  • Each user has their own login

Inviting Users

Prerequisites

  • You must be an admin of the Bill Group
  • The user must have a BillManager account

Steps to Share

  1. Go to Admin Panel > Bill Groups
  2. Select the group to share
  3. Click Manage Access
  4. Enter the user's email address
  5. Select their access level
  6. Click Invite

Viewer

Best for family members who just need to see what's due:

  • View all bills and their status
  • See payment history
  • Cannot make changes

Editor

For active participants in bill management:

  • All viewer permissions
  • Create and edit bills
  • Record payments
  • Cannot manage other users

Admin

Full control of the Bill Group:

  • All editor permissions
  • Invite and remove users
  • Change access levels
  • Delete the Bill Group

Removing Access

To remove someone's access:

  1. Go to Admin Panel > Bill Groups
  2. Select the group
  3. Click Manage Access
  4. Find the user
  5. Click Remove

Use Cases

Household Management

Share a "Household Bills" group with your spouse:

  • Both can see upcoming bills
  • Either can record payments
  • Avoid duplicate payments

Property Management

For landlords with multiple properties:

  • Create a group per property
  • Share with property manager
  • Track expenses separately

Family Finance Education

Teaching financial responsibility:

  • Create a group for young adults
  • Give them viewer access initially
  • Upgrade to editor as they learn
